Use your own measurements and the look you prefer. Body proportions, chain style and design all affect where jewellery sits.
Necklace length
Compare the position, not only the number.
As a general reference, 40 cm often sits close to the base of the neck, 45 cm around the collarbone, 50 cm below it, and 60 cm toward the upper chest. Placement varies with the wearer, pendant size and chain construction.
40 cm
Short, close placement. Check neck measurement and comfort carefully.
45 cm
A common collarbone position on many wearers.
50 cm
Usually falls below the collarbone and allows more layering space.
60 cm
A longer line that typically reaches toward the upper chest.
Bracelet fit
Measure the wrist, then consider comfort.
Wrap a flexible measuring tape around the wrist where the bracelet will sit, without pulling tight. Record the wrist circumference in millimetres. The required allowance depends on whether you prefer a close, comfortable or loose fit and on the bracelet’s construction.
Measure the intended wrist
Left and right wrists may differ. Measure the wrist on which the bracelet will be worn.
Consider the design
Rigid bangles, tennis bracelets and chunky links fit differently. Internal dimensions and clasp construction matter.
